In view of this, Noida Police launched a campaign and issued challans to vehicles parked in no parking areas. Besides, verification of students and other people living in PG is also being done.
According to the information received from the police, on April 16, on the instructions received from Gautam Budh Nagar Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh, Police Commissioner (First) Praveen Kumar Singh and ACP Traffic Rajeev Gupta along with the police force visited the private university under Police Station Sector-126 area in the campaign. A special checking campaign was conducted in the surrounding areas. During this campaign, challans of 278 vehicles were issued and 16 vehicles were towed by crane. All drivers were directed to follow traffic rules, otherwise strict action would be taken against them. The police team, while patrolling the surrounding area, also searched vehicles/persons that appeared suspicious. The local people appreciated the continuous action being taken by the police. Noida’s ADCP Manish Mishra said that for several days, videos of continuous fighting were going viral on social media and illegal dhabas and hookah bars were being opened around private universities. Snooker places etc. were running, due to which youth from outside areas used to come here and have fun and videos of their ruckus and fights were surfaced. Taking action against all these, the police has closed all the illegally running establishments and has started verification of all the students and other people living in PG. He said that this campaign will continue like this and the police will keep checking continuously.–IANS
