The German Ice Hockey League (DEL) started its 30th season on September 14, 2023. In the anniversary season, 14 teams will compete to win the coveted championship title. DEL 23/24: Schedule
The 2023/24 DEL season promises a total of 52 regular ice hockey game days, followed by the “DEL Playoffs” in 2024. The schedule has regular weekly times and times for the games, although deviations and postponements may occasionally occur during the season. According to the DEL schedule, games are scheduled both during the week and on weekends during the season.

The regular game day in the DEL looks like this: The week starts with a Thursday game at 7:15 p.m., followed by several games in a conference on Friday, which includes six games starting at 7 p.m. The next game day is always Sunday, where the teams take to the ice at 2 p.m., 3:15 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. This season, for the first time, four top games were moved to Saturday evening in order to make the schedule more attractive.

DEL 23/24: Dates
The 2023/2024 DEL season started with the first game on September 14, 2023, marking the start of the league’s 30th season. After the 18th matchday, which took place on November 5th, 2023, there was a short break until the 19th matchday on November 16th, 2023. After the regular season, the playoffs started on March 10th, 2024. The highlight of the season is in April 2024 , when the new champions are crowned in the final series of the playoffs.

DEL 23/24: Broadcast on TV and stream
This season, the DEL ice hockey games will mainly be broadcast on pay TV. 14 teams will play in the DEL in 2023/24. This means that the temporary increase to 15 teams carried out in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic has come to an end. This season the following 14 teams are represented in the top German ice hockey league:

- Grizzly’s Wolfsburg
As defending champions, Red Bull Munich goes into the 2023/24 season as favorites, but Adler Mannheim and Eisbären Berlin are also among the top teams. The Adler Mannheim last triumphed in 2015 and 2019, the Eisbären Berlin won the championship in 2021 and 2022. Vice champions ERC Ingolstadt also want to establish themselves among the top teams.
The mode of the DEL season 2023/2024 stipulates that all 14 teams will each play 52 main round games, followed by the playoffs, in which the first ten teams in the table take part. The last person in the main round is relegated to the DEL2, provided the DEL2 champion applies for and receives the DEL license. The playoffs started on March 10, 2024 and will end in April 2024 with the finals series and a new champion.
