The Head of Human Rights of Representatives calls on the government to follow up on the decision to raise the minimum wage in the private sector to 6,000 pounds

The Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives praised the decision of the National Wages Council to raise the minimum wage for workers in the private sector to 6,000 pounds instead of 3,500 pounds.

Representative Tariq Radwan, Chairman of the Human Rights Committee in the House of Representatives, said in his statements today that the decision of the Higher Wages Council is in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s assignments to the government to raise the minimum wage to ease the living burdens on citizens.

The decision of the Higher Wages Council was considered a positive step in the right direction, improving the standard of living of all workers in the national private sector, especially in light of the difficult economic conditions that the country is going through.

Representative Tariq Radwan stressed that increasing the minimum wage will have a positive impact on the entire private sector, as it will increase workers’ purchasing power, which will contribute to increasing demand for goods and services and thus stimulating economic growth, explaining that the political leadership pays great attention to all societal groups, improving the livelihood of citizens, and achieving a decent life. .

Radwan added that this measure taken by the National Wage Council as a representative of the government comes within the framework of its keenness to provide a minimum level of decent living, especially since raising the minimum wage helps achieve a balance between the employer and the worker, which achieves the interest of work and increases productivity, calling on the government to seriously follow up. The reality of this decision lies with all institutions and companies affiliated with the private sector.
