The launch of the Gulf Film Festival with wide regional participation

Under the patronage of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Film Authority, the Film Authority is organizing for the first time; The fourth session of the Gulf Film Festival, which was launched today, and will continue for 5 days during the period between April 14 and 18, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh, in the presence of a number of Their Excellencies, a number of prominent cultural and media figures, activists and influencers in the field of cinema.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by the CEO of the Film Authority, Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Qahtani, during the opening ceremony of the Gulf Film Festival, His Highness the Minister of Culture affirmed that “this edition of the festival comes as an extension of an important process in cultural cooperation between brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council, and a translation of the keenness of our wise leadership.” “To enhance ways of cooperation between us.”
He added: “This festival that brings us together today reflects the close connection between the ambition and cultural strategy of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and highlights their great role in promoting cultural exchange, expanding infrastructure, drawing inspiration from successful experiences, and encouraging Gulf talents to provide more.”
During the ceremony, a creative film was shown that highlighted the depth of Gulf cinema, and the festival’s contribution to strengthening it and enriching the pace of its growth.
Hosting the Gulf Film Festival enhances the Film Authority’s achievement of one of its most important goals, which is to enrich the national cinematic movement and provide creative platforms that enable talented people to present their innovative works and share their experiences with filmmakers, as the festival witnesses a distinguished presence of a large number of Gulf filmmakers presenting through dialogue sessions. And various workshops, aspects of their cinematic experiences.
It is noteworthy that the Gulf Film Festival comes with a rich and diverse agenda, as its five days are filled with screenings of 29 films, 3 training workshops, and 6 cultural seminars, examining broad horizons in the film industry, between the future of cinema and Gulf film festivals, and the challenges faced by Gulf filmmakers. The Gulf Film Festival will also witness the ceremony of announcing the winners of its awards in its 9 categories, for the most prominent Gulf contributions to the field of cinema.
