Tunnel found in Riveras during operation for missing persons

In a search operation by the Local Committee (CLB) on the matter in a home in the Riveras del Bravo VII neighborhood, a tunnel with a depth of four meters was found, although without evidence related to cases of missing persons.
According to information from the State Attorney General’s Office, it was a multidisciplinary team from the CLB that supported the home inspection, in a follow-up search of current cases of disappearances of women, adolescents and girls.
During the ground reconnaissance process with the geo radar equipment, the researchers discovered an irregularity under a cement slab that led them to a tunnel with an approximate depth of 4 meters.
For the exploration work, the intervention of the Municipal Water and Sanitation Board of Juárez was necessary, who used a backhoe to remove the materials that were on the surface and to continue the review of the soil.
With the help of the canine element Escott, the presence of remains or evidence that could be related to the investigations carried out by the Public Ministry of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Women in the Northern Zone of the state in relation to cases of disappearance was ruled out.
The Local Search Commission of the Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Investigation of Human Rights Violations indicated that they continue to work in a coordinated manner with the various investigation areas in order to provide continuity to the cases of missing or unlocated persons throughout the state.
