Why TikTok should be banned
[ad_1]
A thesis has been this: we let communist China put a neural input at the base of the skulls of people under 25. What would we say if a single company owned “The New York Times”, “The Washington Post”, CNN, Fox News, “Atlantic”, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, and if that company had ties to communist China? Would we be okay with that? That’s what happens with TikTok. And it is based on this type of argument that the US wants to force the company that owns TikTok to sell it to an American company. Or seeing the application banned. The proposal has already passed in Congress. It is not known whether it will pass the Senate (where ByteDance, owner of TikTok, is spending millions on lobby). And, even if it passes, you will still have six months to find a buyer. Nobody really knows what will happen. India, out of fear of China, banned TikTok in 2020 for its 300 million users. But in the USA it is more complicated. See: Donald Trump, the great opponent of TikTok as President, made one of his U-turns and is now against the ban or sale — in a sign of support for angry young people. The majority of users were “left-wing”. Trump wants to seize the opportunity to “save” TikTok and become the hero of desperate TikTok youth.
