The Government of the State of Durango, through the Secretariat of Natural Resources and Environment, issued the recommendations to be observed in the Protected Natural Areas of the Laguna Region, such as the Fernández Canyon and the Sierra del Sarnoso-La India, during the Total Solar Eclipse.

It is prohibited to alter or destroy, by any means or action, the nesting and reproduction sites of wild species. Nor is it allowed to spend the night and/or camp outside of the places previously marked and designated for this purpose; Park vehicles in spaces designated for this purpose, reducing traffic in places that may affect flora and fauna.
The extraction of superficial stone materials is not permitted. Nor does damage to the bark of trees to obtain ocote. Nor marking trees or painting signs on the walls of facilities and rock formations.
