The debt table of Sancaktepe Municipality in Istanbul, which passed from AKP to CHP after 15 years, was hung in the municipality building. According to the table; The municipality has a debt of approximately 2 billion TL

According to the debt table shared by CHP Sancaktepe District Chairman Emre Yılmaz on his social media account with the words “The heavy toll of a plunder on the people of Sancaktepe”, the municipality was transferred with a debt of approximately 2 billion TL.

The municipality’s debt to contractors alone was announced as 804 million TL.

Sancaktepe Municipality also came to the fore with its luxurious and magnificent municipality building built during the AKP period.

Necati Özkan, campaign director of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, said, “It is not in vain that AKP lost. I went to Sancaktepe Municipality to congratulate Alper Yeğin. The presidential floor of Sancaktepe Municipality is 6,000 m2, there are many rest rooms here, “There is a jacuzzi (luxury bathroom), a dining room and a 200 m2 kitchen,” he said. Former president Şeyma Döğücü called it “slander” and asked the presidential office to open a live broadcast.

The previous mayor, İsmail Erdem, stated that on the floor built in 2017, there was a presidential office, a meeting-management room, a public relations room, a guest waiting room, a private secretary’s room, presidential advisor unit rooms, a prayer room and a 20 square meter kitchen.

The new mayor from CHP, Alper Yeğin, confirmed the information about the ornate presidential floor, but stated that it was designed during the reign of the previous mayor, İsmail Erdem, and said, “Regarding the Sancaktepe news in the press and social media, no renovation work was carried out on the Presidential floor during the period of Ms. Şeyma Döğücü. “The previous Mayor designed a luxurious bathroom and a floor that the mayor would not need,” he said.

Finally, the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into “publicly disseminating misleading information” upon the allegations in question.
