Amarnath Yatra date announced, Yatra will last for 53 days; Registration will start from this day

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): There is good news for the devotees preparing for Amarnath Yatra. Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has announced the dates of the yatra. This time the yatra will start from 29th June and will continue till 19th August i.e. 53 days. Registration for the yatra will start from April 15. It will be mandatory for devotees to register themselves before going on the yatra. Any devotee who wants to go on this journey can register on the official website. Let us tell you that this time the duration of the journey is 10 days less than last year.

What are the guidelines for travel?
The age of the devotees for the journey should not be less than 13 years or more than 70 years. Women more than 6 weeks pregnant will not be allowed to travel. For registration, valid compulsory health certificate issued by an authorized doctor, Aadhaar card or valid identity card recognized by the government will be required. The registration fee for each devotee is Rs 150. It will also be necessary to obtain a Radio Frequency ID (RFID) card before starting the journey.

Amarnath Temple is considered one of the most sacred temples of Hindus and has many legends associated with it. This temple houses 51 Shaktipeeths (places where body parts of Goddess Sati fell). It is also described as the place where Lord Shiva revealed the secret of life and eternity to Goddess Parvati. Most of this temple remains surrounded by snow throughout the year. The temple is opened for a very short period during the summer season.
