New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): A delegation of BJP leaders led by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has met the Election Commission and complained about the statements of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Citing Rahul Gandhi’s continuous and repeated making of such statements, BJP has demanded the Election Commission to take strict action instead of giving notice. BJP has also demanded the Commission to ban Rahul Gandhi’s speech.
Talking to the media after meeting the Election Commission, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that he has put forward many things before the Election Commission. On Sunday, at the rally of the opposition alliance at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, Rahul Gandhi had said that the Lok Sabha elections are like a fixed match, the central government has appointed its own people in the Election Commission. Rahul Gandhi also talked about the misuse of EVMs, whereas, the Election Commission has said many times that EVMs cannot be tampered.
Continuing his criticism of Rahul Gandhi’s statement, Puri further said that he wrongly accused the BJP of snatching away the Constitution and the constitutional rights given to the people. Rahul Gandhi also talked about the country breaking into pieces and the country going on fire, which is objectionable.
He said that Rahul Gandhi is making such statements out of frustration. Puri further said that he has also complained to the Election Commission about the attitude of the TMC government in West Bengal. At the same time, BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh said that Rahul Gandhi is repeatedly making unparliamentary statements against constitutional institutions and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has given such statements fifty times, hence the Election Commission should ban him from giving speeches.
