Bhopal. Congress has announced 10 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh. Among them, three are sitting MLAs while Chhindwara MP Nakul Nath has been made a candidate again.
There are 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state, out of which Congress announced its candidates for 10 seats on Tuesday. The biggest name in the list is that of Nakul Nath, son of former Chief Minister Kamal Nath and MP from Chhindwara. At the same time, three MLAs have also been made candidates. Among these, MLA from Satna Siddharth Kushwaha has been made the candidate from Satna, MLA from Bhander Assembly Phool Singh Baraiya from Bhind and MLA from Dindori Omkar Singh Markam has been made the candidate from Mandla Lok Sabha constituency.
Markam, who has been made the Congress candidate from Mandla, is a third-time MLA. He has won the last assembly elections from Dindori. BJP has made Union Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste its candidate from this seat. Similarly, Siddharth Kushwaha has been fielded from Satna Lok Sabha constituency. His competition is against BJP’s Ganesh Singh.
The important thing here is that in the recently held assembly elections, Kushwaha had defeated Ganesh Singh. Congress has made Bhander MLA Phool Singh Baraiya its candidate from Bhind. The BJP candidate here is Sandhya Rai, who was also elected from Bhind in the last election.
If we look at the candidates announced by Congress, the party has made former minister Kamleshwar Patel its direct candidate. Whereas, Dr. Rajesh Mishra is in the fray from BJP’s side.
Rajendra Malviya has been made the candidate in Dewas and BJP’s Mahendra Singh Solanki is facing him. Congress has made Radheshyam its candidate from Dhar. Whereas, BJP has not yet declared its candidate from here. If Congress makes Por Lal its candidate from Khargone, he will face BJP’s Gajendra Patel.
Congress has fielded Ramu Tekam from Betul. BJP has already declared Durgadas Uike as its candidate from here. Congress has given a chance to Pankaj Ahirwar from Tikamgarh. Whereas, Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar is in the fray from BJP side.
