Damage to the Bridge Over the Amurva Bumi Blahbatuh Monastery Begins to Be Handled

GIANYAR, BALIPOST.com – The condition of the bridge over the Amurva Bumi Vihara, Blahbatuh, which is tilting from its original position, is starting to be addressed. The East Java-Bali PUPR Center has carried out an inspection of the bridge.

The Head of Highways at the PUPR Service, Made Gede Astawiguna, with permission from the Head of the Gianyar Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Service, Dewa Hartawan, said on Tuesday (5/12) that the repairs would be handled by the center because it has the status of a national road. “Handling the bridge on Jalan Raya Wisma Gajah Mada is the authority of the East Java – Bali PUPR Center,” he explained.

Blahbatuh Police Chief Commissioner I Made Tama, SH confirmed that damage inspection and monitoring activities had been carried out on Monday (4/12). The monitoring activity was attended by the Head of the Road and Bridge Construction Division of the East Java – Bali PUPR Center, Ayu Pertimasari along with 4 staff, the planning PPK along with the P2JN Coortim and Bali Province SKPD staff.

Previously, Friday (1/12), at around 18.30 WITA, residents reported the slanting condition of the bridge above the Amurva Bumi Vihara, Blahbatuh. The ancient bridge, which is thought to have stood during the colonial era, is 60 meters long and 5 meters wide, is experiencing corrosion on some of the bridge’s iron frames. (Wirnaya/balipost)
