President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered journalists’ questions at the Social Complex after the Cabinet Meeting.

QUESTION: Your diplomatic traffic is quite active after the holiday, what is on your agenda?

For example, the President of Tanzania will come to Turkey. Tanzania is an important country in Africa. That’s why his coming to Turkey is very important. The steps we will take with them contain important opportunities in terms of investments as well as diplomatic issues.

QUESTION: You will also visit Baghdad in the coming days. What issues are on the agenda? Can we call it a new phase in the fight against terrorism?

Especially the Iraqi side attaches great importance to this visit of ours. With this visit, we will put our relations as Türkiye and Iraq on a different basis. One of the most important agenda items of our visit is the water issue. They had some requests from us regarding water, and we are working on these issues. We will try to resolve this issue with them. They already want us to solve this issue. We will take our steps in this direction. There are also issues of natural gas and oil flow to Turkey, and we will endeavor to address them as well. After our visit to Baghdad, we can visit Erbil on our return and meet with the officials there. Our friends continue their work on this issue.

QUESTION: There was a visit by Russian President Mr. Vladimir Putin, has the date been determined?

We have frequent phone calls with Mr. Putin. The date for his visit to Türkiye has not been determined yet. I believe that this issue will become clear as soon as possible.

QUESTION: It is rumored that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel asked for an appointment with you. What would be your response to this request?

Our door is open to CHP Chairman Mr. Ozel. We have many topics to cover, we sit down and talk as soon as they come to visit.

QUESTION: Is it possible to appoint teachers?

Teacher appointments will not take long, we will be making some appointments soon. However, it would not be right to give figures now. Our Minister of National Education is working on the issue.
