DPR Commission II: RDP with KPU is proposed after the recapitulation is complete

Member of Commission II DPR RI Guspardi Gaus asked the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) not to be lulled into being in their comfort zone.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA–Member of Commission II DPR RI Guspardi Gaus said that the agenda for the Hearing Meeting (RDP) with the General Election Commission (KPU) is proposed to be held after March 20 2024. This means that the RDP is proposed to be held after the counting recapitulation process National level vote acquisition at the KPU is complete.
He said that the KPU was originally summoned by Commission II of the DPR RI to attend the RDP on Thursday (14/3/2024), along with other election organizers, namely Bawaslu, the Honorary Council for Election Organizers (DKPP) and the Ministry of Home Affairs. However, the KPU has sent a letter to Commission II requesting a reschedule.
“So the secretariat (Commission II) proposed March 20, after the national presidential, legislative and DPD elections have been counted,” said Guspardi when contacted in Jakarta, Tuesday (12/3/2024).
According to him, there needs to be an understanding regarding the objective conditions of the KPU, which is currently busy with the plenary meeting to recapitulate the results of the vote tally at the national level. Even so, he said that the leadership and members of Commission II had not yet discussed rescheduling the RDP.
The legislator from the National Mandate Party (PAN) faction also said that the plan for the RDP agenda was to discuss the evaluation of the stages of the 2024 simultaneous elections in the Commission II Meeting Room.
“Until now there hasn’t been any reschedule “from the leadership made together with members, but the secretariat proposed postponing it after the 20th,” he said.
Previously, the KPU sent a letter to Commission II DPR RI regarding the request for rescheduling of the RDP with letter number 500/PR.05-SD/01/2024. The letter, published on March 11 2024, was signed by KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy’ari.
Based on KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022, the national vote recapitulation for the 2024 Election is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 20 2024.
