The Polish national team with Anna Twardosz, Dawid Kubacki, Nicole Konderla and Piotr Żyła took fifth place in the mixed team ski jumping competition at the European Games. Austria won ahead of Norway and Slovenia. The competition was held at the Średnia Krokiew in Zakopane.

The Poles were in fifth place practically throughout the entire competition. They fell to sixth only once in the second series, when Konderla landed on 77.5 m. The White-and-Reds were then 0.4 points ahead of the Swiss. The honor of the Polish team was saved by Żyła, who in his second jump reached 102.5 m, 1.5 m more than the Swiss Gregor Deschwanden. Thanks to this, Poland returned to the fifth position in the competition.

The Austrians definitely triumphed in the competition, beating the second Norwegians by 62.6 points. Poland lost to Austria by 172.1 points. In the team of Biało-Czerwonych, the best results were Żyła, reaching 105.5 and 102.5 m. Kubacki landed on 101.5 and 96.5 m. Twardosz had attempts on 87.5 and 81 m, and Konderla on 90 and 77.5 m .

In Thursday’s competition, Deschwangen landed the furthest distance on 106.5 m in the first jump. Żyła was 105.5 m long, and 105 m was achieved by the German Philipp Raimund. In the second round, Austrian Jan Hoerl landed the furthest, at 106 m, who had 102.5 m in the first attempt. The second distance of the final – 104 m was achieved by Austrian Daniel Tschofenig, who landed six meters closer in the first jump.

The Slovenians ended the competition in not the best moods. They only won a bronze medal, although they were in second place before the last series. In the last attempt Anze Lanisek jumped only 90 m, while Marius Lundvik had a jump 4.5 m longer. As a result, the Norwegians took second place, ahead of their rivals by 4.7 points.

Hoerl triumphed in the unofficial individual classification – 248.5 points. The second was Tschofenig – 243.3 points, and the third was Żyła – 240.3 points. Kubacki was classified in ninth position with 222.8 points. In fifth place was the first female Kriznar – 238.6 points, and Prevc – 7th – 231.0 points.
