United Russia proposed reviving the system of dairy kitchens throughout the country and introducing a uniform standard for their operation. Work on it is underway on the party platform together with the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Agriculture.
“We conducted monitoring in the regions to provide adequate nutrition to pregnant women, nursing mothers and children under three years of age. The results showed that in a number of regions there are dairy kitchens, including those with specialized food, and in some places they provide monetary compensation – from 165 rubles to 2 thousand per month. Somewhere there are points for distributing food packages. Regions have been identified that do not provide this type of state support at all,” noted the federal coordinator of the “Strong Family” party project, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Family Protection Tatyana Butskaya.
Dairy kitchen system is necessary
At the same time, she said, the majority of parents believe that it is necessary to revive the dairy kitchen system. This is confirmed by data from a United Russia survey on social networks, which the party project conducted in 59 regions.
“We have excellent examples of dairy kitchens in the republics of Bashkortostan and Mordovia. They help in preserving the health of children. In Mordovia, the work of a children’s food station is structured so that the child receives high-quality locally produced products for a fully balanced diet. We need to rely on such experience when standardizing the entire system,” Butskaya noted.
Also, specialized formulas for pregnant and lactating women, dairy products and cereals for baby food are issued in the Vologda, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Magadan, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Orenburg, Saratov regions, Krasnoyarsk, Primorsky Territories, the Republics of Tatarstan and Tyva, in St. Petersburg and Sevastopol. Special baby food products, on the recommendation of a doctor, are obtained in the Krasnodar, Stavropol Territories, Magadan, Ulyanovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod, Pskov regions, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
“Together with relevant departments, leading Russian producers, experts and doctors, we will develop a unified approach to organizing the work of dairy kitchens in the regions. Mom and baby should receive a healthy diet. The support of domestic manufacturers is no less important. Therefore, the work of dairy kitchens will be based on domestic raw materials, which we have in abundance,” Butskaya concluded.
