Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky was beaten in a Kiev pre-trial detention center, where he is under arrest on charges of treason, TASS writes, citing the deputy’s lawyers.
“Unknown persons beat the MP, which he reported to his lawyers, as well as to the administration of the pre-trial detention center. An ambulance was called, which noted multiple hematomas, as well as a suspected rib fracture. Now Alexander Dubinsky and his lawyers are awaiting the arrival of police officers to draw up a report on bodily injuries,” the message says.
Now, as specified in the message, the deputy’s lawyers will seek to transfer Dubinsky to the SBU pre-trial detention center in order to protect the client’s safety. They claim that someone is specifically seeking physical violence against the Rada deputy.
Dubinsky was charged with high treason on November 13, at the same time SBU officers came to his home with searches. The case was initiated on the basis of released audio recordings that allegedly recorded a conversation between Joe Biden and ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, which took place in 2015-2016. It is assumed that Dubinsky took part in the release of the recordings.
Earlier it was reported that Dubinsky is also suspected of “illegally” transporting people abroad.
