LDK PP Muhammadiyah and Lazismu Hold Muslim Islamic Boarding School on 3T Island

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The Community Da’wah Institute (LDK) and the Amil Zakat Infaq and Alms Institution (LAZISMU) of the Central Leadership (PP) of Muhammadiyah held an Islamic boarding school for converts while distributing Ramadhan gifts to preachers and converts in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T).

This activity was carried out at the Jamiatul Islamiyah Oelaba Mosque, Rote Barat Utara District, Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, on March 29-30 2024.

“We would like to thank LDK and LAZISMU PP Muhammadiyah for providing attention to the preachers and Muslim converts in Rote Ndao through today’s Ramadhan Islamic boarding school activities,” said MUI Rote Ndao Chairman Ahmad Kiah in a release broadcast by LDK PP Muhammadiyah in Jakarta , Saturday (30/3/2024).

Ustadz Kamarul Zaman representing LDK PP Muhammadiyah together with Deputy Chair of PWM NTT Syarifuddin Darajat, PWPM NTT Jailani Tong, and PDPM Kupang City Abdul Majid Laba had to travel by sea for 4 hours and land for 2 hours to get to the activity location.

During the Muslim Islamic boarding school activity, LDK and LAZISMU PP Muhammadiyah also provided 100 Ramadhan Gift packages for preachers and Muslim converts in the 3T area.

Furthermore, LDK PP Muhammadiyah administrator Kamarul said that Muhammadiyah had long been paying serious attention to Muslim converts in remote areas.

“Actually, since 1979 Muhammadiyah has been paying serious attention to preachers and converts in remote areas through one of the bodies that develop isolated tribal communities. After that, the nomenclature was changed to Special Da’wah Institutions, and now to Community Da’wah Institutions,” he said .

On the same occasion, Deputy Chair of PWM NTT Syarifuddin Darajat also emphasized the importance of mothers continuing to learn to read the Koran.

“Mothers must continue to study and improve their reading of the Koran. Especially in the month of Ramadan,” he said.

The Islamic boarding school event for converts closed with the distribution of Ramadhan gifts and breaking the fast with all the preachers, converts and invited guests.
