A 9-day public holiday was declared during Ramadan Feast. However, there are many sectors and businesses that will continue to work without taking a vacation. Overtime will continue in some critical jobs during the holiday. Shift schedules have already been created. With the holiday, the minimum wage earner will receive an additional payment of up to 2 thousand lira in the May salary. Those who do not take leave during the holiday and will work due to duty are researching the calculation details of overtime. SSI Specialist Özgür Erdursun calculated the difference one by one between the eve of Ramadan Feast and the Eid days.

The Eid holiday will begin before the 2024 Eid al-Fitr, which will be held on April 10-12 this year. Monday, April 8, the first working day before the Eid al-Fitr, and April 9, the eve of half-day work, were decided as administrative leave. According to this; The holiday will start on Saturday, April 6 and end on Sunday, April 14.

Social Security Institution (SGK) Expert Özgür Erdursun calculated how much overtime wages employees will receive after the Ramadan holiday is extended to 9 days.

“The Eid al-Fitr is 3.5 days. Although the Eid al-Fitr is declared as 9 days with 3.5 days, 1.5 days of administrative leave and a week holiday, private sector employees, except for public employees, will not be able to benefit from this holiday.

There will be a half-day holiday on Tuesday, and a full-day holiday on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. In other words, the Eid holiday is 3.5 days for private sector employees.

The daily wage of a person working for Minimum Wage is 566.74 TL net. A person who works full time for 3.5 days during the holiday will receive an additional wage of 1,983.58 TL in addition to his normal wage.
