Miracle of doctors, Indian Army soldier’s severed hand reattached

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): The hand of an Indian Army soldier, who was amputated while operating a machine in the Union Territory of Ladakh, was reattached by doctors after emergency surgery at the Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital here last night.
Officials said on Friday that the injured soldier, who was brought from Ladakh, underwent emergency surgery on his hand at the Army’s R&R Hospital here and his amputated hand was reattached.

It is noteworthy that this incident happened on Wednesday when his hand was cut while operating the machine. The injured soldier was first brought to Leh airport and from there to Palam Air Force Station in Delhi by Super Hercules aircraft.

The Indian Air Force wrote on social media X, “An Indian Army soldier’s hand was cut off while operating a machine in a unit located in the forward area. Emergency surgery to repair his amputated hand would have taken six to eight hours, so an Indian Air Force C-130J aircraft had to fly the soldier to the Delhi-based R&D.
R was dispatched within an hour to be brought to the hospital for surgery.

The Air Force wrote in another post, the soldier was airlifted from the Ladakh sector by the Air Force in dense darkness and night vision goggles were used. On reaching R&R Hospital, Delhi, a dedicated team of medical personnel at the hospital performed successful surgery on the jawan and the jawan is now recovering.
