Muliawan Arya believes Bali will get a ministerial slot in the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet

DENPASAR, BALIPOST.com – The Prabowo-Gibran pair are the elected president and vice president who have been appointed by the KPU on March 20 2024. If the Constitutional Court decides this pair is the winner of the Presidential Election, Bali will be considered entitled to a ministerial position.

The pair supported by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition Party (Gerindra Party, Golkar Party, Democratic Party, PSI, and others) was able to obtain more than 50 percent of the vote or 1,454,640 votes from the total number of Permanent Voter Lists (DPT) in Bali of 3,269,516 . Moreover, there is a tendency that whoever is the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Bali always gets ministerial quota.

Chairman of the Gerindra Party DPD for Bali Province, Made Muliawan Arya or who is familiarly called De Gadjah, believes that Bali will get one minister. However, his party was reluctant to provide clear names of the ministers from Bali who would later be proposed to Prabowo. What is clear is that he is male and has been working for a long time for Prabowo-Gibran’s victory in Bali.

Regarding ministerial positions, the Chairman of the DPD Golkar Party for Bali Province, I Nyoman Sugawa Korry, admitted that the Advanced Indonesia Coalition Party in Bali had not specifically proposed the names of ministers from Bali to enter the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet. Moreover, the selection of ministers is the president’s prerogative.

Nevertheless, he believes that Bali will get 1 ministerial position. In the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), namely Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga as Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) for the 2014-2019 period and I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati (Bintang Puspayoga) as Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) 2019-present period.

In the era of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), Jero Wacik was Minister of Culture and Tourism (Menbudpar) for the 2004-2009 and 2009-2011 periods and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) for the 2011-2014 period.

In the era of President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) and President Megawati Soekarnoputri, namely I Gede Ardhika as Minister of Culture and Tourism (Menbudpar) for the 2000-2004 period.
