Pentagon announces the number of UAVs and missiles shot down by Iran in its attack on Israel

Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder answered questions at the daily press conference.

Spokesperson Ryder said that according to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), there were 110 medium-range ballistic missiles, 30 land cruise missiles and more than 150 UAV attacks against Israel from Iran, Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

Ryder stated that 81 of these UAVs and at least 6 ballistic missiles were shot down by the USA.

Noting that the USA does not want tensions to increase in the region, Ryder stated that they will continue to take the necessary measures to defend Israel and US personnel.

Asked about Israel’s statement that it would respond to Iran, Ryder said, “I do not want to make assumptions at this point.” He glossed over these questions and stated that Israel should be asked about these issues.

99 percent destroyed in the air

When asked about the fact that 50 percent of the missiles and UAVs launched by Iran in retaliation failed and did not reach their targets, Ryder stated that he would not go into intelligence details from the podium and claimed that “99 percent of the air threat against Israel has been eliminated.”

Ryder also said that Iran did not give any warning to the United States through its allies before launching the attacks.

Stating that Russian forces are making progress on the front, Ryder stated that the USA should meet Ukraine’s air defense needs.
