Piotr K.’s family does not want to talk about what happened in May 2020. A terrible tragedy happened in Drawsko, a small village near Krzyż Wielkopolski. The 53-year-old Piotr K. became furious and started arguing. He attacked his wife and then attacked his only 13-year-old daughter.
The senior of the year decided to defend her daughter-in-law and granddaughter. She was sure that only she could tame her thrashing son. The 85-year-old woman entered the room where the man was. At that time, the daughter-in-law and granddaughter ran away to the yard. The old lady probably did not expect her son to raise his hand against her.
He stabbed his mother 9 times with a knife
In a blind fury, Piotr K. took the knife. He started stabbing his mother. An autopsy showed that the woman had been stabbed nine times with two kitchen knives. Called by the killer’s wife and daughter, the police first had to overpower him, and only later could they reach the dead old woman. It turned out that the murderer was completely drunk. The examination showed that he had as much as 2 per mille of alcohol in his system.

After sobering up, Piotr K. claimed that he did not remember anything. The prosecutor ordered a psychiatric observation to determine whether the detained matricide was insane at all. The first expert opinion allowed the 53-year-old to be insane. So another one was commissioned, according to which Piotr K. was sane when he murdered his mother in fury.
It fades into oblivion
On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, the trial of Piotr K. began in the District Court in Poznań. His lawyer asked for the case to be conducted behind closed doors. Judge Michał Zimniewski agreed with the arguments of the defender, who referred to, among others, on the opinion of his client’s insanity. The case is classified. It is known, however, that in the investigation Piotr K. pleaded not guilty, citing oblivion. The man is facing eight years in prison, up to life in prison.
