President Erdoğan: Our door is open to CHP Chairman Mr. Özel

In his statement to journalists after the Cabinet, President Erdoğan stated that his doors are open to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Erdoğan stated that they would come together and talk if they visit.

President Erdoğan told reporters after the Cabinet, “Our door is open to CHP Chairman Mr. Ozel. We have many topics to cover, we will sit down and talk as soon as they come to visit.”

After the Cabinet Meeting, which took place 1.5 months later due to the pace of local elections, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan walked with journalists to his residence. Meanwhile, Erdoğan answered journalists’ questions.

Republican People’s Party Chairman Özgür Özel said at his party’s group meeting today that he would request an appointment from President Erdoğan in the future. Journalists asked Erdoğan, “It is rumored that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel asked for an appointment with you. What would be your response to this request?” he was asked.

President Erdoğan responded by saying, “Our door is open to CHP Chairman Mr. Ozel. We have many topics to cover, we will sit down and talk as soon as they come to visit.”

Your diplomatic traffic is quite active after the holiday, what is on your agenda?

“For example, the President of Tanzania will come to Turkey. Tanzania is an important country in Africa. Therefore, his coming to Turkey is very, very important. The steps we will take with them contain important opportunities in terms of investments as well as diplomatic issues.”

You will also visit Baghdad in the coming days. What issues are on the agenda? Can we call it a new phase in the fight against terrorism?

“Especially the Iraqi side attaches great importance to this visit of ours. With this visit, we will put our relations as Turkey and Iraq on a different basis. One of the most important agenda items of our visit is the water issue. They had some requests from us regarding water, and we are working on these issues. We are trying to solve this issue with them.” They also want us to solve this issue. We will take our steps in this direction. We will also try to address the issues of natural gas and oil flow to Turkey. We can also visit Erbil on our return after our visit to Baghdad. “We can hold talks. Our friends are continuing their work on this issue.”

There was a visit by Russian President Mr. Vladimir Putin, has the date been determined?

“We have frequent telephone conversations with Mr. Putin. The date regarding his visit to Turkey has not been determined yet. I believe that this issue will be clarified as soon as possible.”

Is it possible to appoint teachers?

“Teacher appointments will not take long, we will make some appointments soon. However, it would not be right to give numbers now. Our Minister of National Education is working on the issue.”
