JAKARTA, BALIPOST.com – The right to inquiry regarding alleged fraud in the 2024 Election continues to be carried out by dissatisfied parties. Regarding this, the Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, said that the proposal required political support.
“That’s the member’s right, if it can be of good use, then yes. But let’s see first how it is in the field. “That requires political support, not just political will,” he said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (28/3).
This was conveyed by Puan in response to the discourse on the right to inquiry regarding fraud in the 2024 elections to be rolled out in the DPR. He stated that there were no special instructions to members of the PDI-P faction in the DPR regarding the right to ask questions for the 2024 elections.
“There are no instructions, nothing,” he said, quoted by Antara News Agency.
Apart from that, he stated that there had been no movement in the coalition party of the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md pair to roll out the right to inquiry in the DPR. According to him, if the right to inquiry is rolled out, PDIP wants everything to be done in accordance with applicable regulations.
“There are regulations in the MD3 Law, there are regulations. So then it has to be proposed by at least 2 factions, by 25 people. “Until now, there hasn’t been any,” he said.
Puan also touched on plans for reconciliation between the Ganjar-Mahfud coalition party and the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka coalition. When asked about PDIP Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputri’s plans for a meeting with Prabowo, he only answered briefly ‘God willing’.
He also didn’t talk much about PDIP’s plans for the future, including the possibility that PDIP would be invited to join Prabowo’s government, just like Prabowo was invited to join President Jokowi’s government in 2019. (kmb/balipost)
