Amal Ibrahim, Shenouda’s adoptive mother, expressed her happiness at Shenouda’s return to her again, saying: “Praise be to God, we thank our Lord that he returned to me safely.”
And she said during an interview with the “ME SAT” satellite channel, on Wednesday evening, that she named the child “Shenouda” in order to fulfill a dream that one of her friends dreamed of after her return from Jerusalem.
And she added, “One woman was coming from Jerusalem. She told me I dreamed that our Lord gave you a child and named him Shenouda.
She indicated that she had agreed with her husband, Farouk, to give the name Shenouda to their adopted son. Because it is God’s gift to her.
For his part, the father of the child, Shenouda, stated that they lived every moment with their son, commenting: “If he is tired, we will be tired, and if he is happy, we are happy and happy.”
And he narrated that he was always keen to check on Shenouda’s health, adding about Shenouda’s love for them: “The first time he woke up in the morning, he used to say to me, Good morning, Papa, Good morning, Mama, Good morning, Tita.”
And the North Cairo Prosecution Office ordered the college to hand over the child, Shenouda, temporarily to Mrs. Amal Ibrahim, who found him as a trusted parent after she took a pledge to take good care of him, preserve him, and not expose him to danger.
The Public Prosecution commissioned Mrs. Amal to complete the procedures for sponsoring the child in accordance with the system of alternative families, after the Public Prosecution sought the opinion of the Grand Mufti of the Republic on the child’s religion in light of the circumstances of the investigation, and issued a fatwa stating that the child follows the religion of the Christian family that found him according to detailed jurisprudential opinions.
The Public Prosecution addressed the Ministry of Social Solidarity to consider the request submitted by the family that found the child to receive him in accordance with the provisions of the Child Law and its implementing regulations, in the system of alternative families.
The Public Prosecution also instructed the Child Helpline of the National Council for Motherhood and Childhood to take legal measures towards renaming the child with a Christian four-legged name for a Christian legal father and mother, in light of the findings of the investigations, which included the fatwa of the Grand Mufti of the Republic declaring the child’s affiliation to the religion of the people who found him.
