The Germans dominated the ski jumping Grand Prix in Hinzenbach
The White and Reds entered the competition without Kamil Stoch, who was ill and did not go to Austria.
In the qualifications, Dawid Kubacki performed best among the Poles who were able to enter the competition as a whole, he was 9th. Stefan Kraft won, the surprise is the elimination of the leader of the GP classification – Bulgarian Vladimir Zografski, who fell after landing (he was not seriously injured) and ran out of him points to get to “50”.
After the first competition series, Wellinger was the leader. He was 0.9 points ahead of his compatriot Stephan Leyhe, 1.4 points ahead of Austrian Stefan Kraft and 3.1 points ahead of the best Pole at the halfway point – Kubacki. Żyła – 10th place – and Paweł Wąsek and Kacper Juroszek, jointly classified in 29th position, also got into the second series. 32nd Aleksander Zniszczoł was eliminated.
In the second series, Juroszek (24th) and Wąsek (25th) improved. Żyła retained 10th place. Kubacki, who was supposed to fight for the podium, had a worse jump and dropped to 7th place. The competition was won by Wellinger, who defended the lead against Leyhe’s attack.
