Klemens Muranka took the eighth place and was the best of the Poles in the second competition of the season of the Summer Grand Prix in ski jumping in French Courchevel. The winner was Bulgarian Vladimir Zografski, his first victory in the LGP in many years of his career.
The second place was taken by the winner of Saturday’s competition, which inaugurated the LGP Swiss season Gregor Deschwandenand the third was an Austrian Marco Woergoetterwhich was in the same position on Saturday.
Klemens Muranka he was eighth after the first round, in which he reached 126.5 m. In the second round he jumped 124 m and kept his place in the top 10. He was classified in the 11th position Alexander the Destroyer. The Pole after the first series, in which he landed on 120 m, was 10th, in the second attempt he reached 124 m, similarly to Muranka, but this gave him a drop to one place.
In the final series, to which all five Biało-Czerwoni advanced, he presented himself well Kacper Juroszek. After a poor attempt in the first round, when he landed on 109.5 m and was 29th, in the second he had 122.5 m and moved up ten places to 19th.
Other Poles took places in the third “10”. Maciej Kot was 24th – 119 and 117 m, and Jacob Wolny 29. – 120 and 115.5 m.
Zografski showed the longest jump of the competition
Vladimir Zografsky in the first round he had the longest jump of the competition – 132.5 m. In the second round he had an attempt only two meters shorter and won the competition with a score of 262.6 points. The second Deschwanden scored 16.4 points less – 123 and 126 m. The third Woergoetter had attempts at 125 and 129 m.
On Saturday, in the first competition, Zografski already showed that he is in good shape. He was second after jumps of 132 m and 118 m.
In Courchevel, the entire national top is missing, with the champion of the European Games Dawid Kubacki in the lead. In the Summer GP he was the best in 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2022. In this regard, he is the most successful jumper. He won 14 competitions.
In France, apart from the best White-and-Reds, all other jumpers from the top “20” of the last edition of the World Cup are missing.
The competitions in Courchevel are the first elite competitions with changes to the starting limits. Teams of Japan, Poland and Slovenia can field five players. The Austrians, Germans and Norwegians will benefit from the six-man squad thanks to the additional starting places won in the last period of the Continental Cup.
In a week, the Summer Grand Prix competition in Szczyrk
In a week, the jumpers will move to Szczyrk, where the competition is to have a much stronger cast.
Then they will compete in Rasnov, Romania (September 23-24), Hinzenbach, Austria (September 30-October 1) and Klingenthal, Germany (October 7-8). A total of nine individual competitions and one mixed doubles competition are planned for this year’s Grand Prix.(PAP)
