Tension after stone pelting on Durga idol immersion procession, internet banned for 2 days

Chhapra (Uttam Hindu News): After Begusarai and Aurangabad in Bihar, now there is a situation of tension in Saran district after stone pelting on the Durga idol immersion procession. In view of the tension, internet has been banned for two days in the Sadar subdivision area. According to the police, when the immersion procession was passing through Naya Bazar area of Bhagwan Bazar police station area of Saran district on Friday morning, an incident of stone throwing took place, due to which some people also got injured.
A police officer said that at around 5 am on Friday morning, a DJ was playing loudly in the procession passing for Durga Puja idol immersion in front of New Bazaar under Bhagwanbazar police station. In protest against this, stones were pelted at the procession by anti-social elements.
Immediately after receiving this information, the administration and police arrived and controlled the situation and all the remaining statues were immersed. District Magistrate Santosh Kumar and Superintendent of Police Gaurav Mangala also reached the spot and explained to the people. Saran Superintendent of Police Gaurav Mangala said that some people have been detained in this case. In this regard, action is being taken to identify anti-social elements through videography and register a case.
He said that adequate forces and magistrates are camping at the incident site. To stop rumours, an order has been given to shut down internet service for 2 days in Sadar subdivision. He said that at present the situation is completely under control.
