Busy work awaits the Parliament in April

The Turkish Grand National Assembly, which will restart its work after the election, will work intensively in April.

The General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly will discuss two legislative proposals containing regulations in the fields of energy and tourist guidance, which were accepted by the commissions. Tax exemptions and discount rates will be discussed. The removal of the 25 percent rent increase limit will be evaluated. As part of the fight against informality, the transfer of all future lease agreements to e-Government will be discussed. Cryptocurrency will be regulated.

Regulations in the field of energy were accepted in the general assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

-According to the Proposal on Amending the Mining Law and Some Laws, which contains regulations in the field of energy, natural gas produced locally and imported from different sources can be liquefied in Turkey and marketed as LNG to the world markets.

-Projects prepared to increase energy efficiency will be supported by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources at a maximum of 30 percent of their cost, provided that it does not exceed 15 million lira.

-Excluding the reservoirs and wetlands where drinking water is supplied and the shores and coastlines within the scope of the Coastal Law, the areas of seas, dam lakes, artificial lakes and natural lakes declared as renewable energy resource areas by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources can be renewed without a zoning plan. energy production plants can be established.

-In places where a state of emergency has been decided or is considered a disaster area affecting general life, temporary electrical energy demands will be met within the framework of the determined procedures and principles in order to provide uninterrupted electricity services.

Regulations regarding tourist guides and travel agencies are on the way

-According to the Proposal on Amendments to the Tourist Guide Profession Law and the Law on Travel Agencies and the Association of Travel Agencies, those who cannot meet the requirement for a foreign language proficiency certificate will be able to become a Turkish tourist guide if they meet the conditions for admission to other professions.

-There will be no requirement for undergraduate graduates of the art history and archeology departments of universities to participate in the tourist guide training program.

-If travel agencies provide benefits for themselves or the person they refer, in return for sending their customers to a business for shopping purposes without their knowledge and approval, their documents will be canceled and they will not be able to work as a travel agency for 5 years.

The bill on crypto assets will be submitted to the Parliament

It is known that the cryptocurrency law has come to an end. One of the first legal regulations in the Parliament is expected to be related to crypto assets.

The bill on crypto assets, which has been discussed for a long time, is planned to be submitted to the Presidency of the Parliament by the AK Party in April.

Thus, the cryptocurrency market will be placed on a legal basis. The new bill aims to prevent grievances and prevent money laundering. With this law, it is expected to provide auditability and transparency by redefining crypto assets.

This proposal is among the first issues to be brought to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly General Assembly after the commission discussions.

With this step, Türkiye is expected to attract more investments in blockchain technology.

The targets of the cryptocurrency law are listed as follows:

-The issuance and distribution of crypto assets and the principles to be followed by traders will be determined.

-Crypto assets will be identified through a specific encryption and algorithm.

-It will be clearly stated who owns the passwords of crypto assets.

Tax exemptions and discount rates will be determined

A bill on tax exemptions and discount rates will be on the table in the Parliament.

Removal of the 25 percent rent increase limit will be discussed

In order to prevent exorbitant rent increases, a limit was imposed only on the rent increase rate of residences.

The 25 percent rent increase limit applied to residences was used until July 2024. Among the issues that will be on the agenda of the Parliament, the removal of the 25 percent rent increase limit will also be included.

Lease agreements will be made via e-Government

In addition, as the Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek stated in his statements, moving all future lease agreements to e-Government is on the table within the scope of the fight against informality.

In this way, rental income declarations will be provided more accurately.

Opinions will be received for the new Constitution

During the process of making a new constitution, it is planned to obtain opinions from all political parties in the Parliament on which headings should be included in the constitution and to determine a general framework.
