The Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue sets the agenda for the next phase after the Eid al-Fitr holiday

Members of the Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue confirmed that the recommendations of the economic axis that were sent to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi are realistic and provide solutions to the problems of the economy, stressing that there is interest from the President in the success of the National Dialogue.

Member of the Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue, Jamal Al-Kashki, said that the Board of Trustees will meet after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, to determine the agenda for the next phase of the National Dialogue, pointing out that the General Coordinator of the National Dialogue, Diaa Rashwan, presented the recommendations of the economic dialogue to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which include 97 recommendations. In statements to Al-Shorouk, Al-Kashki expected that the recommendations of the economic dialogue would bear good results for the benefit of the citizen, especially since they greatly intersect with all the issues of the citizen’s life.

He pointed out that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s recent confirmation of the completion of the national dialogue is a message confirming the president’s continued support for the dialogue, and his strong desire for the continuation of the dialogue that was launched on April 26, 2022. It is a message to urge the political forces to continue their participation in the national dialogue, from In order to achieve results that are in the interest of the country.

Al-Kashki explained that President Sisi’s focus on the economic aspect is his complete bias towards the Egyptian citizen, pointing to the president’s emphasis that the dialogue’s upcoming topics will include political, economic, societal, and all fields, which is a strong message that the president stands behind the national dialogue.

For his part, a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue, Talaat Abdel Qawi, said that the National Dialogue will address during the next stage issues that it had not addressed before, after President Sisi said that the dialogue is not limited to political, economic and social axes, in light of the challenges the region is witnessing.

Abdel-Qawi added to Al-Shorouk that the formation of a joint committee between the government and the Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue confirms that the dialogue is not a “speech” or that it is linked to a specific occasion, as some claimed, but rather a method of work in the next stage.

Regarding the recommendations of the economic axis that were sent to President Sisi, Abdel Qawi confirmed that the recommendations include a number of topics that concern citizens, such as addressing the phenomenon of high prices and inflation, the general budget deficit, public debt, the problems facing exports, the problems of industry, agriculture, and tourism, in addition to social justice, and the role of… The private sector and civil society in supporting the national economy.

He pointed out that these recommendations were prepared after extensive discussions in specialized sessions in the presence of representatives of the government and experts, so that they are realistic recommendations and provide solutions to the problems of the economy, stressing that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is interested in the national dialogue and its outcomes and is keen on its success.

For his part, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed that implementing the outcomes of the national dialogue is a top priority for the government in the next stage, in accordance with the president’s directives, indicating that work will be done to implement the outcomes of the second round of the national dialogue, which is concerned with economic affairs, as soon as they arrive.
