According to the public relations and international affairs report of Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company, Ahmad Hashemi added on Tuesday: This project aims to reduce fuel oil production and produce more value-added and environmentally friendly products, with the focus on the production of sponge coke needed by the country’s aluminum industry. is in progress.

He continued: The implementation of the project started with the establishment of the contractor in the summer of last year, and now the entire project is being implemented with seven percent overall progress, according to the defined plan, and the process of implementation is controlled in monthly meetings with the contractor.

Referring to the scope of the project implementation, Hashemi stated: In the strategy of the national plan for improving the quality of heavy products, three projects of building 15 units of process units in two phases one and two are planned, and currently the first phase is being implemented with eight process units. .

According to this industrial director, the construction of auxiliary units and services, including electricity, water, steam, nitrogen and 61 storage tanks and the project of the complex of oil production and production of group 2 and 3 oils have been divided.

The CEO of Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company noted that the excavations of the first phase of the process units have been completed, and the reinforcement and concreting of the foundations are being implemented, and the drainage design has been completed in the process units section.

Hashemi said: improving the economic performance, producing the sponge coke product required by the country’s aluminum industry in the amount of 300,000 tons per year for the first time in the country, relying on completely Iranian technical knowledge and cutting dependence on the import of this strategic product, as well as the production of base oils of the group 2 and 3 are one of the goals of this project and it is also of social importance because of creating employment for 2 thousand people.

Referring to the achievements of this national plan, he added: converting the Bandar Abbas oil refinery into a petro-refinery by achieving the ability to produce propylene and naphtha, optimizing energy consumption and increasing the efficiency of the refinery’s production factors, increasing the daily small capacity of gasoline and gas oil production based on the Euro 5 standard. Increasing the added value through the completion of the value chain of the oil and gas refining industry is one of the important achievements of the implementation of this project.
