The Koran Exposes the Behavior of Jews Who Are Reluctant to Fight Jihad with the Prophets

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA- In the Islamic view, Jerusalem has a special position. Prophet Ibrahim, Prophet Ishaq, Prophet David, Prophet Solomon and Prophet Isa, for example, once lived in the city and spread the teachings of monotheism. In addition, the first Qibla of Muslims, the al-Aqsa Mosque, is located in Jerusalem.

Including Qubbat ash-Shakhrah (Dome of the Rock), which is believed to be the place where the Prophet Muhammad SAW stood before Allah SWT sent him to Sidratul Muntaha.

The first verse of the Koran, Surah al-Isra, immortalizes the Isra-Mi’raj journey of Rasulullah SAW by explicitly mentioning the name Al-Aqsa Mosque (literally: ‘the furthest mosque’).

Abdallah el-Khatib in his article, Jerusalem in the Qur’an (British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, May 2001), explains that in the Koran the name Jerusalem is mentioned 70 times, both explicitly and implicitly.

All of this is spread across 21 letters. Among these include the designation of the Holy Land (al-‘ardhu al-muqoddasat)Blessed Land, and Blessed City.

For example, in Surah al-Maidah verse 21, Surah al-A’raf verse 137, Surah al-Anbiya verse 71 and verse 81, and Surah Saba’ verse 18. From an Islamic perspective too, the history of Jerusalem can be drawn from the event of the departure of the Israelites. from Egypt under the leadership of the Prophet Moses.

The Koran Surah al-Maidah, for example, tells how the children of Israel rejected Allah SWT’s command to fight to take Jerusalem. In fact, they insolently said, as immortalized in surah al-Maidah verse 24, which means:

قَالُوا يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنَّا لَنْ نَدْخُلَهَا أَبَدًا مَا دَامُوا فِ يهَا ۖ فَاذْهَبْ أَنْتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَاتِلَا إِنَّا هَاهُنَا قَاعِ دُونَ

“Go, you (Prophet Moses) with your God, and fight, you two, in fact we are just sitting here waiting.” Finally, Allah SWT determined that the children of Israel would not be able to enter Jerusalem until the appearance of the Prophet Yusya bin Nun. Under his command, the children of Israel rose up to fight against the Philistines to capture Jerusalem, although they were not completely successful.

It was only about a thousand years before Christ that the Israeli army took up arms again. This time the Philistines were led by Jalut, while the Israelites were commanded by Thalut.
