The mayor of Orenburg, Sergei Salmin, called on citizens to leave their homes in the flood zone, as the water will only rise in the near future.

“I demand that everyone immediately leave their houses in the flood zone. We will be using a warning system soon, please take the signal seriously. We no longer have time for persuasion,” the press service of the Orenburg administration quotes the mayor as saying.
According to Salmin, at 15:00 on April 6, the water level in the Ural River near Orenburg reached 855 centimeters.
The areas subject to evacuation are Forshtadt, the villages of Sitsovka, Solnechny, Kuznechny, Pristantsionny, Zarechny, Podmayachny, Ovchinny town and the village named after Kuibyshev. Also in the flooding zone are SNTs located in the area of the village named after.
