The peak of the 2024 return flow at the airport is predicted to take place tomorrow

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II Airport has entered a period of reverse flow during the Eid 2024 transportation period. AP II predicts that the peak of reverse flow at 20 airports managed by AP II will occur on Monday (15/4/2024) .

“The cumulative number of passenger movements at the peak of the return flow on April 15 at 20 airports is predicted to reach around 330 thousand people, of which the largest number of passengers will be at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, namely up to 190 thousand people,” said AP II VP of Corporate Communication Cin Asmoro in written statement in Jakarta, Sunday (14/4/2024).

Cin said that operational plans had been prepared at all AP II airports to ensure smooth airport operations, flight operations and services to aircraft passengers.

Cin said collaboration and coordination with stakeholders was getting closer to ensure smoothness and comfort for airplane passengers.

“All AP II airports are preparing for this reverse flow which will reach its peak on April 15. We are ready to accompany and welcome homecoming travelers to the city where they carry out their daily activities,” continued Cin.

During the reverse flow period, he continued, the busiest airport welcoming homecoming travelers from various cities was Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Cin said AP II airport focused on a number of important points in operational aspects and service aspects.

In terms of operational aspects, there are four important points that are the focus of AP II airport, of which there are two important points on the land side and two important points on the air side.

On the land side, the two important points are smooth access for motorized vehicles to the aircraft passenger terminal and the availability of public transportation for passengers from the airport to their place of residence.

“In the departure area, access to the terminal must be ensured smoothly and passenger delivery vehicles must follow existing regulations, where the maximum time for dropping off passengers at the curb side is 3 minutes. “On the other hand, in the arrival area we must also ensure the availability of public transportation for passengers, to make it easier for passengers to quickly get to their place of residence,” said Cin Asmoro.

Meanwhile, two important points on the air side are aircraft parking allocation and passenger baggage handling.

Cin said that AP II together with airlines and other stakeholders properly planned the arrival flow of travelers, including determining the location of aircraft parking, whether to dock at the terminal to use the aerobridge (on block) or in remote areas. This was well planned.

“Baggage handling by ground handling operators is a very important point in the return flow. In the midst of busy flight arrivals, personnel must be able to fulfill level of service starting from the time the baggage is unloaded from the plane until boarding conveyor belts in baggage claim area in the terminal,” said Cin.
