The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) handed over to the Ukrainian authorities demands for the immediate arrest and extradition of all persons involved in terrorist attacks on Russian territory, including the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasily Malyuk.
“The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed to the Ukrainian authorities demands within the framework of the International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings (ICBTB) and the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism (ICFT) for the immediate arrest and extradition of all persons involved in these terrorist attacks. Among these demands is the arrest of the head of the SBU V. Malyuk,” says a message on the department’s website.
The ministry noted that he recognized Ukraine’s organization of the bombing of the Crimean Bridge in October 2022, and also revealed details of the organization of other terrorist attacks in Russia. The department recalled the murder of journalists Daria Dugina and Vladlen Tatarsky, the serious injury of writer Zakhar Prilepin and the death of his driver Alexander Shubin, as well as the recent terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall. Killings and mutilations of civilians, including children, accompanied the raids of the terrorist organization “Russian Volunteer Corps”*, the report notes.
Russia demands that Kiev “immediately stop any support for terrorist activities, hand over the perpetrators and compensate for the damage caused to the victims,” the department said, noting that Ukraine’s violation of obligations under anti-terrorism conventions will entail its international legal responsibility.
Earlier it was reported that the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Vasily Malyuk in absentia on charges of terrorist attack; he faces imprisonment from the moment he appears in Russia.
Let us recall that the head of the SBU admitted that he personally developed and thought through the plan for the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge. He stated that the SBU had been thinking about the possibility of blowing up the crossing for six months.
* Terrorist organization banned in Russia.
