His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, in the Jordanian capital, Amman, today held an official discussion session with the Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives, Ahmed Al-Safadi, during the official visit that His Excellency is making to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, at the head of a delegation from the Council. In response to an official invitation received from the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament.
His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm reception and generous hospitality, expressing his happiness and the members of the delegation’s visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
He said, “This visit comes within the framework of strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two councils, and keeping pace with the aspirations of the leaderships of the two countries. “To strengthen bilateral relations and open new horizons for cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and their people,” pointing out the great importance that the relations between the two chambers be translated into work that strengthens the bonds of cooperation and parliamentary coordination between the two sides, and that the work of the two chambers through parliamentary friendship committees and mutual official visits be crowned with desired results that serve the interests of the two chambers. The two brotherly countries, and the aspirations of the leadership of the two countries were achieved.
In this regard, His Excellency also noted the strong and fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the development they are witnessing in various fields.
For his part, the Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives welcomed during the session His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council and the accompanying delegation on the occasion of his visit to Jordan, wishing His Excellency and the accompanying delegation a pleasant stay in Jordan, noting the depth of the bilateral relations that bring together the two brotherly countries, the great development at the level of parliamentary relations and the great level of coordination between the Council The Shura Council and the House of Representatives.
Al-Safadi expressed his country’s appreciation for the positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of Jordan, praising in this regard the Kingdom’s positions regarding various regional and international issues.
During the discussion session, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, discussed many topics of common interest, and ways to strengthen the existing parliamentary cooperation relations between the Shura Council and the Jordanian House of Representatives.
In a press statement following the talks session, His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council stressed the strength and durability of Saudi relations between the two brotherly countries.
His Excellency praised the continuous directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them – for everything that supports the strength of relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh explained that the discussions with the Speaker of the House of Representatives come as an extension of previous meetings in which the two chambers seek to work hard for everything that achieves the aspirations of the leadership of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
For his part, the Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives, in his statement, noted the great level of coordination between the Shura Council, the Jordanian House of Representatives, and the parliamentary friendship committees, and the mutual visits between them.
The discussion session was attended by the official delegation accompanying His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council, Council members Dr. Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al-Qannas, Professor Mubarak bin Khalaf Al-Dosari, Dr. Hisham bin Kamal Al-Faris, Dr. Aisha bint Ali Areshi, Dr. Amira bint Ahmed Al-Jaafari, Dr. Najwa bint Abdul Karim Al-Ghamdi, and an ambassador. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Jordan, Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, while it was attended from the Jordanian side by the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdul Rahim Al-Ma’ayah, the Second Deputy Speaker, Yahya Obaidat, Assistant Speakers of the House of Representatives, Fayza Udaybat and Mayada Shuraim, and the Chairman of the Jordanian-Saudi Parliamentary Fraternity Committee, Dhiab Al-Masa’id.
