The time of Turkey’s first manned space flight has been announced

Turkey’s first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, will depart for the International Space Station at 01.11 on the night between January 17 and January 18.

There are only days left for Alper Gezeravcı, who will be Turkey’s first space traveler, to make history.

In his statement on his social media account, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır said that Gezeravcı and the Axiom Mission 3 (Ax-3) crew will head towards the International Space Station with the launch that will take place at 01:11 on the night between January 17 and January 18. announced that he would act.

Kacır said, “This historic mission will be an important milestone in Turkey’s space science studies, as well as a great source of inspiration for future generations.”

Will do 13 different experiments

Alper Gezeravcı, who will go to the International Space Station (ISS), started his training in April in Houston, Texas, USA.

As part of Turkey’s first manned space mission, Gezeravcı will stay on the ISS for 14 days after the launch in January and carry out 13 different scientific experiments.

Ax-3 flight

Axiom Mission 3 (Ax-3), the first commercial astronaut mission to span Europe, is redefining the path to low Earth orbit for countries around the world.

The Ax-3 crew consists of mission leader Michael Lopez-Alegria representing the USA and Spain, Alper Gezeravcı from Turkey, Walter Villadei from Italy and Swedish Marcus Wandt participating on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA).

The flight, which is expected to last approximately 14 days, will be carried out by Axiom Space and a Crew Dragon spacecraft will be used.

The spacecraft will take off from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, fly to the International Space Station, and fall into the ocean when the mission is completed.
