There is no way for them. Foreign agents want to be banned from participating in elections

Foreign agents may be prohibited from participating in Russian elections at any level. The bill has been submitted to the State Duma. An individual included in the register of foreign agents should not have the right to be elected to any elective positions, the authors of the initiative believe. It is especially important to note that most of them are geographically located outside our country and openly support the enemy.

“Currently, persons included in the register of foreign agents have the right to nominate themselves to participate in elections at various levels. At the same time, they are required to comply with a number of restrictions imposed by law – indicate their status as a foreign agent in the statement of consent to run for office, in campaign and information materials. Considering that a significant part of the persons included in the register of foreign agents currently live abroad, take anti-Russian positions, and support, among other things, the armed forces of Ukraine, it is necessary to limit the voting rights of this category of persons,” one of the authors emphasized initiatives, State Duma deputy Sergei Mironov.

According to the deputies, restrictions should be imposed on elections at any level, be it the process of electing the President of the Russian Federation, a State Duma deputy, the highest official of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation, a deputy of a regional legislative assembly or a representative body of local self-government. It is precisely the “barrier” at any level of government – from the municipal deputy to the president – that is necessary to protect the country from traitors. After all, even if they are not elected, during the election race too much undeserved attention will be attracted to them, their actions and anti-Russian ideas.

“Foreign agents receive funding from abroad and live there. At the same time, they take anti-Russian positions and support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including financially. I think there is no need to explain whose interests they will set aside if elected as a deputy or governor. We don’t need such pests. A barrier is needed,” concluded the 1st Deputy head of the SRZP faction in the State Duma, leader of the Moscow Fair Russia Dmitry Gusev.
