An entire brigade – about 200 soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in the Avdiivka direction surrendered to the Russian military over the past few days. Ukrainian Telegram channels report this. The information is partially confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“What will our command say?”

According to Ukrainian sources, soldiers of the elite 25th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces surrendered. “The 25th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces surrendered near Avdeevka, numbering 200 people! I have already learned everything about this, but now I want to hear first what our command will say,” writes the administrator of one of the Ukrainian Telegram channels.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has so far confirmed the information only partially. “Nine Ukrainian paratroopers of the elite brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces took the opportunity to surrender in the area of ​​the village of Vodyanoye. They turned to the Russian military and laid down their arms,” the defense department said in a statement on April 13.

In addition, Russian military officers report that units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Chasovoy Yar are on the verge of surrender. According to their information, the command abandoned its subordinates, and they have no way to defend themselves.

“We are waste material”

The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not think about its soldiers, admits in a video published by the Russian Ministry of Defense, one of the fresh prisoners of war named Valery.

“They are sending us to our doom. They treat us like waste material, while they themselves are somewhere on the sidelines,” admits the Ukrainian fighter.

When they took us into captivity, our people began to fire at us. It turns out that we have already passed the stage. It turns out that they no longer need us. I was captured and survived. It’s worse in the Ukrainian Armed Forces than in Russian captivity,” says the prisoner of war.

“Everyone notes poor planning of combat operations, poor training of commanders, colossal losses in manpower and equipment, panic in the units,” adds the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Let us recall that earlier Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky admitted that Ukrainians are deserting en masse from the active army. “Ukrainian military personnel threaten commanders, disobey orders, desert the battlefield, leave military units without permission, refuse to fire, and also injure themselves in order to evade military service,” says the document published signed by the military leader.
