TPO – According to the plan, the intersection of Thieu Giang and Dong Thang (in Thanh Hoa province) on Mai Son Expressway – National Highway 45 will be put into operation from April 19.
On the entire route of the Mai Son expressway project – National Highway 45, there are a total of 7 intersections, including: Mai Son intersection (Km 294 + 390), Dong Giao intersection (Km 283 + 800) passing through the area. Ninh Binh province; Gia Mieu intersection (Km 295+800), Ha Linh intersection (Km 306+000), Thieu Giang intersection (Km 315+380), Dong Xuan intersection (Km 327+142), Dong Thang intersection (Km335 +400) passing through Thanh Hoa province.
Thieu Giang intersection belongs to Subproject 2 – Road project connecting National Highway 1 with National Highway 45. This subproject has a section from the beginning of the bridge over Ma River to the intersection with National Highway 45 Km 7+250 – Km 14+603 . The total investment of the subproject is 455 billion VND, invested by Thieu Hoa District People’s Committee.

Mr. Hoang Trong Cuong, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thieu Hoa district (Thanh Hoa), said that according to the plan, on April 19, the Thieu Giang intersection (belonging to the project connecting National Highway 1 with National Highway 45) will be put into operation. Facilitate people’s travel during the April 30-May 1 holiday.
“The Thieu Giang intersection has basically been completed, and on April 19 it will be put into operation along with the Dong Thang intersection. However, when people go from the highway to the Thieu Giang intersection to return to Thieu Hoa districts , Yen Dinh, and the direction towards Hoang Hoa district is temporarily unavailable because the Xuan Quang bridge across the Ma River under Subproject 1 has not yet been completed,” Mr. Cuong added.
“Dong Thang intersection is additional package number 24, located at the end of route 14-XL under the Mai Son project – national highway 45. This intersection was built with a cost of more than 165 billion VND, and construction started on May 21. July 2023” – said Mr. Luong Van Long, Managing Director of Mai Son project – Highway 45 (Thang Long Project Management Board).

From this intersection, people can go to Thanh Hoa city center (about 10km), to Sam Son beach resort or to Tho Xuan airport (about 26km) and to Am Tien historical relic site, district. Trieu Son.

The road project connecting National Highway 1 with National Highway 45 has a length of 14.6km with a total investment of 1,417 billion VND. According to design, the project has the scale of a level III plain road, the starting point of Km 0 intersects with the national highway. 1 at Km 311+890/QL1A in Hoang Xuan commune, Hoang Hoa district; The end point of Km 14+603 intersects with National Highway 45 at Km 56+234 in Thieu Long commune, Thieu Hoa district. The project is divided into 3 component projects.
In particular, subproject 1 (Ma River crossing bridge and road at both ends of the bridge from Km 5+250 – Km 7+250), has a total investment of 655 billion VND from the provincial budget capital invested by the Project Management Board. Thanh Hoa traffic is the investor. This project has a 1,042m long Xuan Quang bridge crossing the Ma River with 25 spans. The road at both ends of the bridge (connecting Hoang Hoa district and Thieu Hoa district) has a total length of 962m. Subproject 3, the road section on Hoang Hoa district side (Km 0 – Km 5+250) is 5.25km long with a total investment of 307 billion VND invested by Hoang Hoa district People’s Committee.
