REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA – Tens of thousands of people flocked to the grand People’s Celebration campaign held by Progressive Volunteers in collaboration with the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team at Wates Square, Kulon Progo, Yogyalarta, Sunday (28/1/2024). At this campaign event, a number of national figures were present.

Those who attended were TPN Chairman Ganjar-Mahfud, who is also Chairman of the Progressive Advisory Board Arsjad Rasjid, Progressive National Director Eka Sastra, TPN Advisory Board Yenny Wahid, cultural observer Butet Kartaredjasa, and the band Slank.

In his speech, Ganjar Pranowo highlighted the importance of free education compared to free lunch for society, by asking the crowd a question, “Ma’am, which is the choice: free school or free food?” The crowd answered. “Free school,”

“Free education belongs to everyone and at least 12 years of education must be free,” stressed Ganjar, who was dressed in a white shirt.

Yenny Wahid also gave a speech and emphasized that the state must be present for all the nation’s children, not just one family.

“I’m the ugly son of the (former) president, but I want everyone, whether they’re the children of pedicab drivers, whether they’re the children of drink drivers, whether they’re the children of parking attendants, everyone can live prosperously and prosperously in our country,” said Yenny.

He also praised Ganjar Pranowo as a leader who wants to be with his people and Mahfud Md as a figure who is committed to eradicating corruption.

In the middle of this campaign event, the committee then invited representatives of the people of Yogyakarta to come up on stage to write their hopes on Ganjar’s back. These hopes include free education and prosperity for their families.

Progressive National Director, Dr. Eka Sastra, as the event organizer, explained that the campaign aims to provide a platform for the public to express their hopes directly to the presidential candidate.

“When people write wishes on Ganjar’s back, it is a symbol of the merging of the distance between the leader and the people. Everyone is equal, there is no distance or hierarchy. The strong message conveyed is that leaders are servants of the people. “He made all hopes come true,” said Eka Sastra.

Progressive Volunteers, led by Eka Sastra, is an acronym for Mutual Cooperation Program for a Prosperous and Inclusive Economy. This Reawan has been formed in 38 provinces, and focuses on developing MSME entrepreneurs, the number of which is estimated to be 67 million people in Indonesia.

At the People’s Celebration event, Eka also said that Yogyakarta has always been special for Ganjar and Mahfud MD because of their role in supporting the Yogyakarta Special Region Special Law. Ganjar, while serving as a member of the Republic of Indonesia’s DPR, played an important role in completing the Privileges Law which was never completed.

The Slank music group, as guest stars, did not miss out on asking for Ganjar’s commitment to maintaining democracy, not violating ethics while serving as president. “If Mr. Ganjar loves Indonesia, this nation and this country, do you dare to promise to protect the Republic of Indonesia, maintain democracy and not violate ethics and remain loyal to love its people?” asked Kaka, Slank vocalist.

Eka is very optimistic that Ganjar is on the path to victory. He said that the public’s presence and enthusiasm in all of Ganjar’s campaigns was a reflection of very broad public support.

“We are optimistic that Ganjar is on the winning path. “Our task is to monitor all the nation’s energy to produce the best leaders for the nation,” he concluded.
