51 teams will fight for the Arucas Rallysprint

The fourth edition of the Rallysprint City of Arucas to celebrate this Saturday March 13, which this year inaugurates the Canary Islands Championship of the specialty, in addition to the Provincial Championship of Las Palmas. An event where the test poster and the official registration list of 51 teams were announced by the president of the organizing entity Fan Motor, who was satisfied with this step of entry to the regional competition and dedicated it to the City Council of Arucas for its commitment and extensive collaboration received so that the test can be competed with complete solvency at all levels, together with several local companies that also provide their help and private sponsors.
Number 1 on the official list will be worn by the champion driver’s team, the Tenerife native Fran Suárez with the Ford Fiesta Rally2, co-piloted this year by Alejandro Rodríguez. The rest of the contenders for the final podium are a priori the Gran Canarian Julián Falcón-Jacob Páez with their new Skoda Fabia R5. Likewise Ayoze Benítez-Patricia González (Porsche 911 GT3), these last two already know what it is to win in Arucas. Also counting for the places of honor are Lanzarote’s Oscar Cabrera-Aitor Cambeiro (Citroen C3 Rally2) and Tenerife veterans Juan Luis Cruz-Carlos Arocha, also with a new mount, the Alpine A110 R-GT. Both among the favorites and in the rest of the list we find pilots from several islands, which makes this first CCRS event in Arucas even more regional.
Arucas is also eligible for the Enma-2RM Services Trophy, the Clio Cardones-Prodrive Cup, Best Rookie Pilot and Co-pilot Trophy, FALP Promotion Trophy and FCA Junior Trophy. Competitions that together have contributed to a very good quality list to witness a spectacular rallysprint on this Saturday, starting at 9:30 in the morning.
No night part
This year the Friday night part is eliminated, to facilitate the travel of teams from other islands, so the entire competitive program It starts at 9:10 in the morning from the Arucas Fairgrounds (work park) and ends at 7:15 in the afternoon, in the same place. The times of the different passes to the section are: 9:30, 11:10 and 1:00 p.m. (TC Bañaderos-Cardonal 1, 2 and 3) and at 3:30, 5:10 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. (TC Cardonal -Bathtubs 1, 2 and 3).
Only verifications are left for Friday, between 5 and 8:30 p.m. at the “Antonio Afonso Moeno-Tonono” Municipal Sports Center. The program concludes with the presentation of trophies at 8 p.m. on Saturday on Calle León y Castillo in the city of Arucas.
