The SIT celebrates the second edition of improvised theater with four shows

This initiative was launched last year when three companies presented projects linked to theatrical improvisation for the 2022/2023 season of the Sala Insular de Teatro, and the artistic direction decided to group them into the same cycle. Of the three titles that Improsit premiered, there have been four in the 2023/2024 season of the Sala Insular de Teatro.

The second edition of Improsit begins this Saturday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m., with ‘The extinction of comedy’, by Anartists. After this inaugural production, the improvised theater program also presents the shows ‘Improaction, a cinema spectacle’, from La Factoría Producciones, on April 27; ‘Disaster Drawer’, from Improcanarias, on May 18; and ‘A crime has been improvised’from Vives Impro, on May 25.

The presentation was held this afternoon at the Sala Insular de Cultura in an event in which the artistic director of the Cuyás Theater participated, Gonzalo Ubani; and part of the artistic cast of the four productions that will take center stage at the SIT in the coming weeks: the actress Romina Vivesby Vives Impro, and protagonist in ‘A crime has been improvised’; Jacob Santiagoby Anartistas, actor in ‘The Extinction of Comedy’; Adrian Torrijos, from Improcanarias, who participates in ‘Cajón Desastre’; and Efrain Martinfrom La Factoría Producciones, co-author and actor in ‘Improcción, a film show’.

The director of the Cuyás Theater, Gonzalo Ubani, He recalled that the first edition of Improsit last year was proposed as a necessary programming commitment after having received three improvised theater projects, and “the public’s response demonstrated it.”
