ISNA: The US President asked the Israeli Prime Minister to take steps to protect civilians in Gaza.
In a call to Benjamin Netanyahu, Joe Biden said: Attacks on the workers of humanitarian organizations are unacceptable and Israel must take steps to protect civilians.
On Monday, the workers of the “World Central Kitchen” charity in a demilitarized zone located in Gaza, in several cars with the organization’s logo, were targeted by the Zionist airstrike. This convoy was targeted while returning from a food warehouse in Deir al-Balah. They unloaded there more than 100 tons of food which had reached this besieged area by sea. According to this organization, the movements of members of this charity had already been informed by the Zionist military.
The convoy consisted of three vehicles, including two armored vehicles that clearly had the logo of the World Central Kitchen charity on their bodies. All three cars were hit during the Zionist airstrikes.
The bodies of six members of this charity were taken from Gaza to Egypt to be returned to their country. Their Palestinian colleague was buried in his hometown of Rafah in southern Gaza on Tuesday. Three of the killed rescuers were British nationals. A Polish citizen, an Australian, a Palestinian and a dual American-Canadian citizen were also killed.
Biden also emphasized that the US policy towards Gaza will be determined based on the country’s assessments of Israel’s steps to prevent harm to civilians.
Regarding Iran’s threats, Netanyahu claimed that this regime has the ability to defend itself and will respond to attacks against its security.
