Based on temporary data from the terminal manager who serves intercity interprovincial transportation (AKAP), the number of passengers who arrived during the reverse flow period from Sunday (14/4) to 10.00 WITA, 1,343 people arrived.
They were transported using 48 buses from a number of cities in East Java, Central Java and Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, 252 passengers departed using 11 buses.
When compared to Saturday (13/4), passengers leaving Bali via Mengwi Terminal were actually higher, reaching 1,646 passengers using 74 buses. The departing passengers are thought to be tourists after spending the Eid holiday on the Island of the Gods.
Meanwhile, passengers arriving during the reverse flow period on Saturday (13/4) reached 1,208 passengers carried by 57 buses. Several passengers who departed at the momentum of the reverse flow admitted that they had returned to their area of origin after holidaying in Bali.
Apart from that, he used a fleet of buses because plane tickets for departures from Bali to Jakarta from Sunday to Tuesday (16/4) had already run out. “I was just on holiday in Bali and coincidentally the plane tickets had run out so I went back to Jakarta by bus,” said Iqbal, a passenger bound for the capital city.
Meanwhile, to ensure the comfort of returning travelers, Mengwi Terminal cleaning staff periodically, once every two hours, and according to room conditions, clean the floors.
Apart from the arrival and departure terminal areas, regular cleaning is also carried out in the toilets.
Meanwhile, National Police Headquarters estimates that the peak return flow will occur from Sunday (15/4) to Monday (15/4).
