In view of the possible heat wave situation in the state in the near future, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel with high officials of various departments of the state to make advance planning at the state level. In which an action plan has been prepared to fight the heatwave with zero casualty approach for complete safety of human life and livestock.
Giving information in this meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence in Gandhinagar, Relief Commissioner Alok Kumar Pandey said that an action plan has been prepared by the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority to deal with the possible heat wave. This action plan has been prepared by integrating eight segments which are important in the fight against heat wave.
A detailed action plan has been prepared involving Health and Family Welfare Department, Labor and Employment, Water Supply, Education, Tourism, Energy, Transport, Urban Development and Panchayat Department. Guidelines and action plans on dos and don’ts for citizens in case of heat wave have been provided to the administration of all 33 districts through the Chief Electoral Officer of the state.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel urged various departments to strictly follow the guidelines given and fully implement the action plan to provide protection to the citizens from heat wave. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel suggested implementing an action plan with ‘zero accident approach’ for complete safety of human life and livestock.
Instructions to prepare special beds in hospital for heat stroke patients
In this regard, Relief Commissioner Alok Pandey said that involvement of charitable organizations in relief work like operation of multipurpose cyclone centre, distribution of buttermilk and ORS, preparation of special beds in hospitals for heat stroke patients, opening of tourist places in the afternoon time. Necessary arrangements will be made for safety and precautionary measures including closure. Tourist places are being inspected by the state government in the afternoon.
State government ready with effective action plan in case of heat wave
He said the heat wave did not occur due to the prevailing situation of unseasonal rain and thunderstorm in some parts of the state as a result of western disturbance. However, in case of heat wave, the state government is ready with an effective action plan. In the meeting, Principal Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister K. Kailashnathan, Chief Secretary Rajkumar, Additional Chief Secretary of Ports and Transport Department M.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Mines S.J. Haider, Secretary of Tourism Department Harit Shukla, Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Urban Housing Department Ashwini Kumar, Principal Secretary of Health Department Dhananjay Dwivedi, Commissioner of Health Department Harshad Patel were present.
