Hanoi handled nearly 600 party members and civil servants for alcohol violations

On the afternoon of January 19, at the press conference of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Major General Nguyen Hong Ky, Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police, informed about the recent handling of alcohol concentration violations in the area.

According to Mr. Ky, in 2023, Hanoi City Police will handle over 73,000 cases of violation according to the motto “no prohibited areas”, “no exceptions”. Along with that, the authorities also verified the identities of all violators, especially party members, civil servants, and public employees.

“Through verification and discussion, there have been 575 cases of party members, civil servants, and public employees violating alcohol levels. Violators will be reviewed or disciplined according to regulations of the management agency,” Mr. Nguyen Hong Ky said.

Responding to questions from the press regarding the “mini apartment” fire that killed 56 people on Khuong Ha Street (Thanh Xuan, Hanoi City), Major General Nguyen Hong Ky said that immediately after the incident, the Police Hanoi City investigated, prosecuted and arrested the owner of this apartment building.

At the same time, Hanoi City Police has an investigation plan, determining all requirements and investigation tasks of the case. Including a group of behaviors related to violations of construction order such as not being thoroughly inspected and handled.

Regarding this group of acts, Hanoi City Police have recently conducted an investigation. “Authorities have conducted classification to individualize the responsibility and behavior of individuals and groups that lead to violations” – Major General Nguyen Hong Ky said.

According to Hanoi City Police leaders, the case is currently in the investigation stage, and when the results are available, it will be announced to the public.
