Héctor Gómez criticizes the “political formations that do not believe in the state of autonomy”

Gómez, who has met in the south of Tenerife with the island’s tourism sector, has indicated that the PSOE trust the regional and local governmentsworks to protect the most vulnerable and defends policies against gender violence.

«Today we find political formations that They do not believe in the state of autonomies, who understand that we must set a parental pin or simply that we should not establish public policies in defense of women”, said Gómez, who has criticized the questioning of these achievements.

Gómez has considered that there are very big challenges in society and understands that the public administrations and the Government of Spain they must be at the forefront, “leading and confronting those challenges”because, he added, it is not possible to go back to the past with a debate on issues that have already been overcome.

Face to face between Sánchez and Feijóo

The socialist candidate has indicated that in the televised debate that Pedro Sánchez and Alberto Núñez Feijóo will star in, two models will be contrasted and one of them, Gómez said, is the one that Spain has managed for the last five years and that despite the difficulties with a pandemic or the war in Ukraine, grows four times above the European average.

“We are at the tail of inflation and we are growing in terms of employment by giant steps,” said the minister, who also has praised progress in terms of employment that have occurred in the tourism industry.

Gomez has pointed out that tourism will be one of the backbones of the Spanish presidency of the EU and he has been convinced that initiatives will emerge this semester to improve aspects such as connectivity, housing and tourism projection towards countries like the United States, which has grown by more than 60 percent as an issuing country, at a European level.

«We are demonstrating and transferring to the citizens the project that we have as a country and the leadership of President Pedro Sánchez in Europe is indisputable that today has allowed us to get out of an economic blockade by giant steps above the average of other European powers”, the minister asserted.

European funds

He has referred to the addendum to European funds that will provide one billion euros for the modernization, digitization, renewal and sustainability of the sector and has advocated increasing public-private collaboration, of which, he said, Spain is at the forefront.

The public sector has implemented measures to boost the tourism sector but without the strength of the business fabric it would not have been possible to get out of the crisis, said the minister.
