Middle School Teacher Dies Hit By Truck

BANGLI, BALIPOST.com – A junior high school teacher in Bangli died as a result of a traffic accident on Jalan Putra Yuda, a residential area, precisely at the intersection of three Banjar Tanggahan Peken, Sulahan Village, Susut, Tuesday (16/4). Victim Ni Wayan Ngilis Murtiasih (51) died at the scene as a result of being hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction.
The accident occurred at around 09.30 WITA. The accident started when the truck driven by I Wayan Sentana, a resident of Kubu Karangasem, came from north to south. Arriving at Simpang Tiga Banjar Tanggahan Peken, to be precise to the south of Balai Banjar Tanggahan Peken, suddenly an unknown motorbike appeared coming from the east and immediately turned left and headed south. “The truck driver immediately turned to the right to avoid the motorbike,” said Head of the Bangli Police Traffic Unit Gakkum Ipda I Ketut Karya.
Unfortunately, the truck actually hit the motorbike driven by the victim Ni Wayan Ngilis Murtiasih, who was coming from the opposite direction. As a result of the incident, the victim suffered lacerations to the right side of his forehead, lacerations to his right thigh, abrasions on the backs of both hands. The victim died at the scene.
After the incident, the police arrested the truck driver who was involved in the accident. “Yes, while (the truck driver) is still at the office for questioning,” said Karya.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bangli Regency Education and Youth Department, I Komang Pariartha, confirmed that the victim, Ni Wayan Ngilis Murtiasih, was a junior high school teacher in Bangli.
